Robert C. Smith passed away at
the age of 84, leaving behind him a distinguished legacy of community service and the formation of a charitable foundation which will continue to give for years to come.

Granted $350 for an Eagle Scout applicant to clean up the area of the historical “Jordan Spreader Plow Engine” on the Hosbach Trail.

CATHOLIC CHARITIES OF CHENANGO COUNTY, Norwich NY
Awarded $ 5,000 for front entranceway renovations easing handicapped accessibility and allowing greater energy conservation measures.

CHENANGO COUNTY BLUES FESTIVAL, Norwich NY
Provided $ 5,000 for the expansion of the Artist Program in the 2010 festival.

CHENANGO COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY, Norwich NY
Awarded $ 20,000 for asbestos abatement, air monitoring and garage demolition relating to the expansion of the museum.

Provided $ 1,000 to provide clothing Christmas gifts for older kids in need.

Provided $ 1,300 for free educational bus trips for the City’s summer youth activity.  A program that had been eliminated in the City budget.

Awarded $ 6,000.00  to assist with the 2010 Colorscape Weekend Performances.

EMMANUAL EPISCOPAL CHURCH, Norwich NY
Awarded $ 12,000 with two grants to provide a “fresh milk voucher” system at a local retail outlet under   Our  Daily Bread Food Pantry.  Provided $ 30,000 with two grants to provide ongoing food provisions under Our Daily Bread Food Pantry.  Provided $ 16,851 to the Community Outreach program for a “Minivator” home elevator for the disabled or elderly.

GREEK PEAK ADAPTIVE SNOWSPORTS,  Cortland NY
Extended an award of $ 6,328 to provide a monoski and a snow slider for handicapped programs

HOSPICE & PALLIATIVE CARE OF CHENANGO COUNTY, Norwich NY
Provided $ 7,500 for patient medications. In addition, expended $ 1,026.48 to complete the grant for additional volunteer certification training sessions.

MORRISVILLE COLLEGE FOUNDATION, INC. Norwich NY
Funded the annual Claude E. Smith Business Scholarship for $ 2,000 and the annual Aurelia C. Smith Nursing award for $ 2,000.

NORTHEAST CLASSIC CAR MUSEUM, Norwich NY
Completed the second installment of $ 50,000 for the renovation of Building #4 and #5 to expand the show room spacing.

NORWICH BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT, Norwich NY
Expended the first of three installments of $ 20,000 dedicated to the historic renovation of East and West Main Street Parks.   In addition, supported the 2010 Pumpkin Festival with an award of $ 7,500 dedicated to providing tents, lighting, tables and chairs for the event.

NORWICH FAMILY YMCA, Norwich NY
Awarded $ 18,000 to implement a camera type security system within and around the exits of the facility. Also, awarded $ 2,500 to transport the basketball hoop units for the “2010 Gus Macker 4 on 4
Tournament.

PRATT NEWTON MEMORIAL HOME, Sherburne NY
Assisted with $ 8,000 for the roof replacement for the residential facility.

SAINT JOSEPH’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, Oxford NY
Provided $ 9,158.22 for furnace replacement and heating system modifications.

SAINT MALACHY’S CHURCH, Sherburne NY
Completed roof replacement, sealing and masonry repairs for the sum of $ 29,002.  Granted $ 3,000
to assist students preparing for the priesthood and sisterhood with supplies and educational expenses.

SAINT THERESA OF INFANT JESUS CATHOLIC CHURCH, New Berlin, NY
Awarded $ 9,184.36 for church capital improvements and religious program needs.

SHERBURNE EARLVILLE WRESTLING CLUB, Sherburne NY
Provided $ 850 to purchase one of three Pee Wee Wrestling scoreboards under a matching grant.
